PLANNING

The interest of the children impacts upon the planning that takes place, and we believe that children learn best when they are learning about things that interest them.

Planning in our nursery starts with the child and it is always needs driven. It must be flexible and responsive, while remaining broad and balanced.

We follow EYFS curriculum and make sure that children are developing in all seven areas of learning in safe and enabling environment, through playing and exploring and working in positive relationships with parents and other professionals and agencies. Our vision is to provide learning opportunities through exploring the nature and using natural materials in our play and learning journeys.

Prime Areas of Learning:

  • Communication and Language

  • Physical Development

  • Personal, Social and Emotional

Specific Areas of Learning:

  • Literacy

  • Mathematics

  • Understanding the World

  • Expressive Art and Design

Three prime areas are particularly important for igniting children’s curiosity and enthusiasm for learning and for building their capability to learn and thrive.

The four specific areas that support and strengthen the three prime areas are: Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding of the World and expressive Arts and Design.

No area of learning can be delivered in isolation. They are all equally important and naturally depend on each other to support a rounded approach to child development.

Extracurricular activites:

To support children’s development we strongly believe that by involving children in cooking activities, providing healthy snacks and organic drinks, we encourage children to always choose healthy options.

Similarly, children are encouraged to participate in a range of gardening activities, an exciting sensory experience for little ones.
